Berisfords specialise in rental properties which are in established residential areas where there is proven and recurring demand from our corporate and professional tenants.

Our company was originally formed by two landlords who were unhappy with the high charges being levied by letting agents who they had appointed to manage their existing property portfolio. They quickly recognised that the standard business model of a letting agent is to encourage a high turnover of tenants in as short a timescale as possible as this generates the largest possible income.

From the perspective of a landlord this was clearly unacceptable. Not only does it encourage a larger number of voids, but it creates additional costs associated with these voids together with letting agency charges when new tenants are found.

Similarly from the tenant’s perspective this was also not ideal. Once a short term contract of 6 months has ended, the tenant is subsequently faced with additional charges to renew the tenancy.

The concept of Berisfords was to create a model which avoids charging tenants and landlords any fees. After an initial set up fee, there are no other charges for either tenant or landlord throughout the duration of their relationship with the company. Aside from the total transparency that this ensures, it aims to encourage longer term rentals thereby providing both tenant and landlord alike with stability and security.
